Guliana Uset
Argentina, resident 2022
Guliana Uset was born in Posadas, Misiones. She studied Communication Sciences at UBA. In 2019 she began in ceramic sculpture at the workshop of Analía Rodríguez. In 2020 she began to illustrate, with a focus on trees, anthropomorphic beings, symbolism, spirits, rituals, and others. That same year she ventured into Agustín Delpiano's improvisational theater workshop, "Teatro Intenso" and in "Sensitive Experience", a body self-perception and dance workshop guided by Julien Acardi. Her work circulates in the intersection between the ritual, the everyday, the dream and ancestry, seeking, at every moment, to explore the synesthesia of different languages. She has participated in ArteCo 2022, in collective exhibitions such as "Recurring Dialectic" (Colorín Otaño Gallery Workshop), "Art in Summer" (Posadas Plaza Shopping) and in various live painting interventions.

Guaraní Alchimia
During her residency at Ruido Blanco, Guliana Uset worked on the Guaraní Misionero Tarot project. The main objective of the project, which has three years of research, was to project on the tarot cards the cultural syncretism of the triple border represented in images about missionaryism, the customs of the three countries, their ideology, food, habits, among others.
Uset opened the tour in the room with a table with objects belonging to the Alchemist of the chipá. In the tarot the magician is the beginning of everything, in this letter the necessary elements usually appear to start the world.
On this occasion, Guliana placed the necessary elements to make a chipá on the table, symbolically occupying the gold in the tarot. These were: cassava -flour with which the 40 types of chipa are made- which gives us the possibility of feeding ourselves and being, cups -receptive element, which represents the emotional and the unconscious- and water.
In the back, she hung a painting that represented the 21st arcane -the beginning and the world- in this sense, starting the tour with this work was a nod to the viewer that everything begins and ends in the same place. Again the idea of the cyclical and the union between the different elements and the residents was present.
The artist's work reflects on nature and the people who inhabit it, migrations and border crossings, and on her own life and daily life. Movements of social struggles such as feminism, made her rethink and problematize the structures in which we are inserted. Through her research, she seeks the possibility of deconstructing certain established hegemonic systems. These are represented in the culture, and the tarot is no stranger to them: figures such as the king, the queen, the priest, among others, present patriarchal and caste structures, which seem rigid and without the possibility of change. However, by resuming Guarani cosmology -where notions such as hybridity appear- Uset in a sort of anthropophagy, she takes elements of European and Guarani culture, chews them and swallows a new universal archetype.
